You can decode the tag on the drivers door, it will tell you original color both inside and out. also powertrain, rear axel etc. But as far as vehicle history it's not something that's documented or anything DMV can tell you. You would have to be able to contact previous owners. Also not something DMV will provide. Otherwise maybe just sit down and see what the car tells you. I talk to my cars all the time

You can always try an internet search of the VIN. If its a show car, you might check judging records with the MCA.
