Originally posted by The Nick: [QB] I just picked up an '87 GT 5 speed for a song and dance from a friend. The car sat for 3 years and I was told the starter needed to be replaced. I replaced the battery to see what worked and didn't work. With the new battery, the car had power but would not crank. I replaced the ignition switch, starter solenoid, and the starter, and it still wouldn't crank at all. I tried bridging the positive terminal on the starter solenoid to the small post, trying to bypass the clutch safety switch and it still wouldn't crank. Any ideas? [/QB]
Fixed it. It was the clutch pedal safety switch after all.
