Have you cleaned the mass air meter filaments? Are you running an aftermarket air filter and if so have you recently oiled it?

A bad maf can act in just the way you are describing. Also a dirty meter will do the same. Your computer has a table for defective or malfunctioning meter which it is defaulting to when you unplug the meter. Stock maf?

Stock maf, its all stock except exust... Also has full fresh tune-up... It idles around 600 & can hear it rough, & when u start 2 give it little gas its not smooth / responsive, but once u get past 1000 its all smooth, when the maf is unplugged it idles perfect @ 900 & revs smooth... So it pretty much still runs good but very low idle, don't wanna jus raise the idle, cause there's something wrong!
