XD arms require reinforcement, the HD's and standards don't because the bushings have some flex, but it's advised if you're going to drag the car.

these cars need it from the factory no matter what stock, its one of there many weak links, then any performance stuff just makes it worse

The arms will definitely put more stress on your torque boxes.
Interestingly, I've torn a torque box on two separate cars before ever stepping up to sticky tires. Both cars had MM weight jacker control arms, for what it is worth.
I will acknowlege that it is possible that the torque boxes were damaged before the MM control arms went on however.
I'm a proponent of beefing up the torque boxes regardless of the intended use of the car.

Just as a follow-up, on one car I ripped a passenger side upper and on a second car I ripped a driver side lower.
Both cars utilized regular old radial tires. Both were reinforced shortly after.

I haven't ripped one yet, knock on wood.
have broken 2 stock rear swaybars on my `97 before I went to the IRS though...

it's fun, makes a nice clanging sound under the car when it happens.
the other one I broke close to the middle, didn't take a picture though I was too pissed off that it happened again, both times I felt like I broke it on the freeway coming home from a track day.

Wow, I've heard of that happening but never actually seen it.
If you stressed the things to that level to snap a sway bar, I wonder how much stress those torque boxes are experiencing?

All I needed for installing torque box reinforcement plates were some wrenches and a drill but best thing I could've done to improve my cars stability. Money well spent.

Hah who knows?
First track day with irs i bent the passengers rear tirod/toe link, and busted a leak in that sides brake hose...
Guess I drive my car hard but i did beat the times for 11/12 m3's, all the z3 m coupes, the 335's, etc

That's cool Kevin,
I never did any serious AutoX myself in any of my cars, but it certainly looks like fun! Much more demanding on the car, but fun nonetheless
