There is a weight attached to it, kind of like balancing a tire, I don't think you can change them though, you need to buy the specific one you need for your application.

If you are using it on that 331 you scored, I believe you will need a 28oz. flywheel. That,s what I think it said on DSS,s web site. If you use the wrong one like a 302 50oz. you will probably ruin the crank bearings and rearmain seal, not to mention the vibration problem.

it is a 331. and it does take the 28oz parts. I was just wondering the difference just so i know for future usage. The balancer is on its way and should be here monday. i already have the flywheel. i bought that from ford racing. this morning
