i got this car as a roller a couple weeks ago, i did not know the cond on the tranny, when i droppe the motor in, i realized that the tranny is going out, shifting is super hard, to put it in 1st gear, is almost impossible, everytime i shift i have to slam it in or else it grinds... any idea of how to fix it? or is it that the tranny is gone? You know that you can make sure its adjusted just by pulling back on the clutch pedal. You can also reach up there and "click" it by hand.

If i am getting on it in 4th gear getting on the freeway and i shift to 5th it ALWAYS grinds. I think its low in fluid though, you might have the same problem.

when i dropped the engine i realized the tranny had a yellow fluid, wich i think might be gear oil, so the very next day, i change it to atf.... so i now the level if full and the fluid is the right fluid...

it was really hard to get my tranny into every gear when I had an adustable type clutch cable on my car, after I switched to a oem ford cable I was able to get it to work right.
no amount of adjusting the cable or my firewall adjuster worked for me, I think the cable was stretched or something.
