my grandpa's shop uses one of those air-powered hammers. it ruins the lock nut(obviously), but it works. you just put the bit (looks like the end of a screwdriver) somewhere you can dig into it and turn it with the hammer. a tire shop should be able to do it for you.

Or, take a 1/2" drive 12 point socket that is close to the same diameter of the lug nut and hammer it on. Use a ratchet and it'll come right off. Make sure it's a Craftsman, so if it breaks..you can take it back. Pretty simple (and you don't risk messing the wheel up from the air tools).

I went out there and it looks like it grabs on the outer edge instead of the inner? There is nothing on the inner to grab.

Dave;just get a socket thats close to the size and hammer it on.Even if it's round,It will grab it tight enough to remove, may even split the socket. If you still don't understand what im trying to type give me a call 916 616 1227.

Its called a GatorGrip, but there are cheap knockoff ones all over the place. I'm pretty sure they got one at your local hardware store for cheap, I got mine as a stocking stuffer a couple years back

In summit: Part # SUM-900460
Reads: easily remove stripped or damaged lugs, or locking lugs with missing keys, with these heavy duty steel sockets.

I follow you now. It took a while, but I got it. I took it over to big O today, and told them they didnt give me my key back last time I was in (about a month ago). Ill bring it back later this week, and they will take care of it. He said They will give me new ones too. I hope he doesnt plan on charging me Thankks for all the help guys, I think that tool would be a handy thing to have around. I might invest in it. -Dave
