So my wife was following a story about 6 years ago, about a baby who was shaken by his nanny. He ended up with serious health problems. I just looked up the story and the young child had passed away at 4. Very sad, breaks my heart. I am curious to know why the c.u.n.t who did this to the little guy only gets 16 months in jail? It is a sad world when a drug dealer gets ten times more prison time than a baby killer. Why is this?

i have a rather different view of how this all should work. child rapists and murders are taken to a barn where they are shot once in the head until dead, yea yea some people want to see them suffer but this is merely business. drug dealers, we can give them 3 times to stop that shit. after the 3rd same barn treatment. also this applies to the career criminals. you obviously cant function in the real world and if you frequent jail or prison *BANG*. but since i dont trust our government for shit this can never happen. they will find a way to abuse and screw it up. plus its not profitable as keeping someone in jail for life so it will never happen.

I don't understand the not as profitable to kill statement. I don't follow all the news so I'm probably just ignorant to the facts but doesn't keeping someone in prison for life just raise taxes like crazy? I've heard people mention the prisons are getting more money for keeping people locked up but who gets that profit?

i dont know the numbers but i see it as a budget that is allocated to the prison system. lets say we cut prison populations in half, which would still make it higher then say canada (per capita), i would assume the budget should be cut to the same effect. then what happens to the staff? do they cut positions? i dont know the way the money is used and what not but im glad i dont, that would just be something else to be angry at. lol

People definately break the law but there should be guide lines for prison time. Like drug convictions shouldn't get more time than rape, vehicular manslaughter, attempted murder. I have a friend doing 25 years for 3 kilos of coke but I went to this case in Redwood City about a drunk driver that killed an off duty officer and got sentenced for 5.

I can't say I have much sympathy for someone with 3 kilos of coke. Are those 25 mandatory minimum? If so that's a pretty long time.

She was probably convicted of manslaughter. That generally carries a much lower penalty. To be convicted of murder, you have to be able to prove a lot more than just someone died. The jury probably had enough evidence to convict on manslaughter and not murder.

Yes there was more to it. I believe there was transporting crossing state borders. Loaded weapon. He's doing straight time no parole. He was offered a deal but he didn't take it.

Then he went federal an that has a whole different sentencing guidelines.
