http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/49ers-sign-kaepernick-blockbuster-deal-through-2020 The 49ers signed Colin Kaepernick to a huge deal. I think its a good move because its an extension so its basically a seven year deal for $126 million deal with $60 mil guaranteed. Hopefully they structured the deal where its cap friendly and they can retain most of the core players.

They had to pay him that much. Jay Cutler gets paid 18mil a year. His contract set the tone for the Kaepernick contract. Safford gets paid 15 mil a season. Kaep has better stats. Now he needs to win a superbowl.

From what I've read about Alex Smith, I think he just wants to stay in one place and build a solid team that can make a legitimate run in the playoffs. Not that any starting QB in the NFL want to make less then 6m a year.

From the initial look at the deal kaep got it seems absurd they'll pay him that much, but like all nfl contracts only a certain sum of it is guaranteed. He's only guaranteed 60 million if for whatever reason he gets hurt. But if his performance is not up to what the 49ers deem they think is worthy for that price tag they can cut him and will only have to pay him 13.25 million. All these contracts are monopoly money. The way they structured the deal makes a ton of sense, not only that but the salary cap increases 6 million next year and 13 million in 3 years (which is what peter king said) so perhaps the 49ers will be able to pay their core players

This is why Alex is a loser, he just wants to stay on a team and go to playoffs. Kap wants to conquer the world. Go 9ers!

I think Sherman would have to disagree with your statement. Oh and if you look at comments from others all around the country they think SF made a huge mistake with this contract. It's all speculation right now but I think Kap has gone about as far as he's going to go. Let see if the 49ers decline starts this season with maybe 10 wins.... Which most likely isn't going to be enough to: 1. Win the NFC west. 2. Set you up for a home field game/bye.
Lastly I think it's ridiculous that they are changing the super bowl to 50 instead of just using the roman numeral L. Because the 49ers petitioned for the change. Bunch of fucking ass clowns. Sad to say I use to be apart of it. SMH

Kap and Sherman are warriors, Smith couldnt even get past the Bengals or whichever team they played in the first round. Got molested like a visitor to neverland ranch.

He threw 4 TD's and zero picks. He hasn't even throw any interceptions in his 3 postseason games.

He could throw a toga party all he wants, if he can't win he shouldnt be in the green. Same goes for Kap, if he doens't continue to produce he'll be dropped. NFL not for long

Since the first game Colin Kaepernick's first game he's the 3rd top rated QB in the NFL only behind Peyton Manning and Aaron Rogers. I'd take Kaep over Smith anyday.
