So, Daniel(50 reasons) & I were discussing slicks recently.
Come to find out MT advertises the et street slicks width based on the section width(widest point on the tire), but for et drag slicks the width is advertised by the tread width. So my 26x10.5 et streets only have an 8" tread width, but an et drag would actually have a 10.5" tread width.
I found this out after buying a set of et streets in 26x10.5-15 to replace my American Racer 26.5x8-15 slicks. I was under the impression that I was getting a much beefier slick, but come to find out it's the same size.
What's up with that? It seems deceiving.

All D.O.T approved tires (ET Street) are measured by section width. All drag only tires (ET Drag) are measured by tread width.
