Was going to try and buy one but decided to make one myself. Picked up a carbon fiber hood so figured I needed to protect it from the cog belt, just in case.

Looks good. Let's see the hood tho, I always wanted to get a carbon fiber hood for my hatch. [ 2014-04-01, 11:53 AM: Message edited by: NEIGHT ]

I'm worried about the belt from my 12-rip procharger as well, that's a good idea!

Neight- Hood came clear coated but I sanded it in prep for paint. Too ricey for me to leave it unpainted. Underside is in process of sanding. Got it @ illstreet.net for $404 plus $95 ship. Edit: I see they have raised the price of my hood to $500.

I got the same one and painted it too, fits pretty good with no trimming needed

Haven't thought about making them for other peeps. Which blower are you running?

Right now, none. I have the dr1, but thinking of going to a f1r. Cog of course.

When you get the F-1R let's discuss it again. I'm not set up for making them in a production type way so it takes a bit of time to work out the geometry. The materials are not too expensive but the shape determination, bending and welding is time consuming.

Did you make it out of aluminum? Looks nice and it always feels good making stuff yourself.

Yes it's 6061-T6 aluminum. Plenty strong and 1/3 the weight of steel.
