Given that this happened, the uproar by the public is expected and justified. Next, of course there is a human side to Oscar Grant. He was a son and father who had his struggles, like many of us. I have no issue with the movie depicting that human side. However, hopefully the movie doesn't hide the fact that he was a convicted felon, in drug possession, and a history with law enforcement. Based on the previews, it looks like the movie paints the physical altercation on the train as being initiated by someone else, presumably due to some ugly past history with that person. I struggle with this one since I see both sides of the argument. The BART cop made a terrible unexcusable mistake. But at the same time, this sort of thing is far more likely to happen to trouble-makers than those abiding by laws, and Oscar's past leads me to believe that he wasn't on a good path. Oscar, Johannes, and everyone else involved lost that that night. Lastly, I would also like to see a smiliar movie made from the perspective of Johannes Mehserle. [/qb]
+1 don't be idiots.. the fact that this guy had made bad decisions in the past doesn't justify his murder. That cop had no reason to even withdraw his weapon in the first place. That fucker should have been charged with murder mistake or not. BART shouldn't even be allowed to have their own "police". They should use regular officers and have to pay the city for their time. Movie looks good though.. [/QB]
