After reading the gas price increases in the other thread here:
http://www.californiafords.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=052674
It got me thinking. The only gas I personally run is Unocal 76 @ 91 octane. I guess it is personal preference but, seems to burn the best in my car.
My question is, what brands and octane do you run in your daily drivers? Is it worth paying the better brands (more expensive) of gas or go with the cheap stuff? [ February 21, 2012, 10:29 PM: Message edited by: Blue92 ]

Never the cheap stuff. That's how you kill a motor. Lol.
I always go to name brand places; Chevron, Valero, Shell... Only use 87 in my Civic but in the 5.0 it was nothing but 91.

With all the deposits that cheap gas leaves, I only use 76 91 octane in the CSVT, and either Sunoco, VP, or 76 in stang.

Theres more things that i 'Personally' take into consideration as to where i fuel, than brand. If your content with the way your car runs on joe blows regular at the local gas and save, knock yourself out.

Chevron 91 in all my cars.
I get better fuel economy in my daily driver Civic with Chevron 91 than any other brand or grade.

All gas is the same. Your paying extra for the additives. That's what my buddy who works at the refinery says.

In California, this is absolutely 100% true. But, there is a benefit in using the top tier gas (better additives) especially if you have a European car and don't like replacing o2 sensors. Places like Rotten Robbie buy excess gas from other companies. One day you'll get top tier, the next day you could get the bottom of the barrel stuff, so to speak. But, it's fine for your commuter.
