People are getting 18+ mpg on those. [/qb]
no thanks! a deleted and tuned 6.4 will always be far superior to a 6.7 deleted and tuned in every category. and to me the new trucks are not the greatest looking. i payed 50k for mine new and i dont plan on needing another truck for atleast 10 years [/qb]
The last good looking one was 05' then they gave the front end the "short bus" look flipping the headlights and whatnot. The nice interiors are night and day from my 99' lariat. For a used 7.3 ask for maintance records, oil changes, tranny, cps sensor, unit bearings and look at the radiator fluid for oil. Exhaust should not have blue or white smoke when reved at running temp. Mines at 160k and prolly broke in at 100k. Don't be afraid of a 200k engine as long as its been maintained and not a premium price. I have changed my tranny at about 140k, but I got the truck with 120k on it and drove it like a rally car in the city and windy roads to berryessa. Went with a bts tranny and never looked back. You guys who have autos behind your 7.3's change to a 6.0 tranny cooler if you haven't yet. Mine will not get over 145* pulling 8k lbs over the sierras or Tehachapi Pass. [/QB]
