Does anyone know where I can find information on doing an 03 cobra eaton swap onto a 96 Cobra? A friend of mine wants to do this to a car he just got and I am trying to help him out. Thanks!

wont happen with b heads inless theres some sort of adapter plate out now.for c headed cars you will need the following...
cobra timing cover, and pullies blower lower manifold blower bridge balancer and lower pulley(cheaper to buy the metco 0lb lower.it bolts to stock balancer) alternator&pigtail, bracket h/e,hoses and h/e pump,h/e resevoir maf and pigtail iat2 and pigtail radiator hoses oil filter adapter t.b,plenum vacuum harness egr and tube v/c gaskets,t/c gaskets, oil filter adaptor o ring, intake manifold gaskets(both upper and lower)
ive done 3 of these swaps on mach1's.2 5spd's and an auto.the 5spd's both put down a little under 500rwhp and the auto was around 450.
i might be forgetting a couple of the little thing but thats is 99% of what youll need besides the c heads
hit me up if you have any questions [ September 17, 2008, 03:09 PM: Message edited by: gtowned ]

Gtowned,
About how much does a eaton swap run? How much do the parts end up costing? After seeing a few eaton swaps and good they work, I think I may take a hit on the crower stage II's that I already have and sell those and go with an eaton swap. [ September 23, 2008, 07:13 PM: Message edited by: Mach916 ]

if you source all the parts out properly you can usually get all the stuf for around 2k depending on some of the parts choices

I honestly don't think it's worth the hassle. You can bolt on a used ProCharger or S-trim for this price.

john, I know what you mean, almost seems easier to go procharger, vortech way. Either way, I will be seeing you Octoberish...I'm still sticking with the cams, for a sec I got all juiced up after seeing a few eaton swaps.

Yours is a different story, the heads don't need to be swapped. The swap is very straight forward and well worth it if the parts are sourced cheap enough. The lower intake is the pricey part in this equation.
