[/qb][/QUOTE]when you are using dumbbells you don't get the help form your triceps as much...that;s why you can see guys who bench in the 400's use 140-150 dumbbells because they don't get the use of the use of the triceps as much...you have to use more of your chest in this manner...for someone like him who is benching in the 300's...115 to 125 is about normal for flat dumb bell... also, having a center weight to lift is much harder than trying to lift a weight that is now centered over your elbow..
