i have a canon zr100 dv camera..i cant seem to find the rite firewire i think its called..ive been lookin everywhere to get one..i have a crap loads of tape that i want to download to my computer. i need the wire the goes from my camera to my computer which is usb..if anyone can help it would be thankful...if anyone needs more info let me know..thanks

did you go on canon to see if they sell the wire? Thats the only place i would know to look. I would contact them and see.

BTW any Computer shop will have it... Ebay sells them cheap

It sounds like you dont even have firewire, since you said your computer has USB and not firewire.
You dont need a cable, there isnt a firewire to usb converter.
You need to go to best buy, circuit city, compusa, etc... and get a IEEE 1394 Firewire add-in PCI card, a 3 port 1394 add in card costs about $35. Link for Firewire add in card

ya thas wha i been thinkin and only seeing..but was not sure...thanks for the help people..any type u prefer 94gt?

the adaptec or dynex will work just fine, 3 firewire connections should do you for a long time you could pay the extra and get a 3/2 firewire/usb card, if you need another usb port... but that sound like its the case... just a nerd note, you can have 172 devices daisy chained from just one original usb port.
