I have a 1998 cobra and I'm thinking of doing imrc delete and get a tune. Has anyone done this? Do you pass smog?

Need to have a tune to pass smog will send a check engine light when you disconnect the Valves, and it will be running rich. Sacstangdriver (Jeremy) did mine with the epoxy method instead of buying the delete plates. i just didnt have the check light since i ran it on a gt ecu (GT ECU's doesn't have provisions for IMRC) ran good just Rich..

I did the same on a 98 Cobra motor I swapped into my 97 GT. Epoxy method also. Ran great. Would have benefited from a tune, but I ran my 97 GT ECU on the motor. I have since went back to a 2V.

I will be doing mine on the weekend, I found this write up on putting a relay with some resistors and diodes to prevent check engine light. http://www.classictiger.com/mustang/UnderTheHood/IMRCDeleteRelayCircuit/IMRCDeleteRelayCircuit.htm
