I'm looking into getting a different daily driver but I don't know what to decide on. I want something with a decent amount of torque and is a comfortable and reliable to drive. Two door or four door, doesn't matter, must be manual transmission though. Open to all suggestions. [patriot]

Fiesta ST. Cheap, fun, 30+ mpg. I love mine. It's small and maneuverable, and lots of fun around town.

Cts v,Audi is4, vw vr6, Svt cobra, coyote 5.0

+1 on the Fiesta ST! It's a gocart with 4 doors and once you drive one you will love it.

+2

I really enjoy the Fiesta ST as a daily driver. Enough power and torque to be entertaining, handles well, fits in compact parking spots with room to spare and gets decent fuel economy.

Thanks for the suggestions but I'll have to pass on Fiesta.
CTSV's are nice but I honestly think they're overpriced for what they are.
I've been kicking the idea of getting a 11-14 5.0 for a daily but I'm still exploring other cars to see if there are any other good choices because I already have a Mustang. Now as far as budget I'm trying to stay like low/mid 20's and under.

I know of a guy in sac selling a base package 2012 5.0 black exterior and black interior with 17k miles for 21k. You already have a mustang but you can't drive it to the mall without having to worry if its going to still be there when you come back. I say a coyote for dd 16mpg/26mpg and fox to modify.

I'd say don't shy away from an auto and look at g8 gt and chargers srt8

Posted by 97cobra209 (Member # 11376) on :

Not to mention the new coyotes are great on power, looks and comfort I have no complaints besides wanting to put it away for a while I have 88k on my 2011 already!!

I was looking at challengers but how are dodges transmissions nowadays?

Maybe I'll head to a Ford dealership one of these days and test drive a coyote since I've never driven or even been in one. Is there any common issues?

I've been in a challenger and its feels like a boat. I bought a kona blue '11 and will be picking it up this friday. I could let you take it for a spin if your really considering a coyote.

Where'd you get it from? How much did you buy it for? If that's kool with you I'm down to take it for a short drive if I don't test drive one this weekend.

21k and private owner in LA 35k miles premium package and brembos and best off all glass roof.
That black one i mentioned was my 2nd option, the black one still has a few months of factory warranty left.
You could get a 2013-2014 but your looking at 26k+ for a low mileage one. I decided on a 2011-2012 because you can find for 18-22k with the price difference I could supercharge it.

That's a good deal then because I've been seeing them closer to 50k miles for $23k. I prefer the 11/12 front ends but I like the rear of the 13/14's so I guess either way I'll have to take what I can just gotta find the right price/miles.

Fredfifty: You mean like a Subaru?

Wife has a 2012 Jaguar XF with a 5.0 S/C engine. Great 4 door car. Comfortable yet fun in windy roads, quiet but halls out when you floor it. Ran a high 12 in it stock

I've owned a couple STi's... have a '16 now. I agree with your points but I don't think it would qualify as "comfortable". I'd say the ride quality is pretty firm. Also, the interiors and sound system were pretty "low rent" in the older ones.

Those things aside... they are reasonably quick, handle fantastically, and definitely a very reliable performance sedan.

i know you said no auto's but imo an auto is more of a daily driver...if youd be interested, e55's and 550i's are sick dd's. price range are in the 10k-15k.

I just went through the same thing and settled on a Focus ST (ST3), 2014 with 11k miles.

+1 on the Challenger (auto)

I really enjoyed mine while I was commuting from the East Bay to SF. I am sure you can find a good deal.

M3 or m4, E55 with no boost,

Posted by NEIGHT (Member # 8741) on :

Keep them coming!

-Corvettes I'll definitely pass I'm not a fan of them to own one, especially at that price.

-Ecoboost I hear have decent gettyup but I don't think I could ever own a Mustang that's not a V8 especially when I live like 5 miles from my job.

-BMW's I'm kinda staying away because that's what I DD now and I want something different.

-E55's AMG's I hear are beasts so I'll have to do some research on them and see if they come in manual.

-68Dustin: Is yours auto or manual? Any trans problems?

The older ones don't have boost and are built like tanks. 350hp

I daily drive an 05 Scion TC 5 speed that I picked up for a $1000 bucks because the previous owner thought it needed a new transmission. Dropped the transmission out of the car and noticed 2 springs on the clutch were gone. New clutch and it's been solid since.

My lady drives an 08 Mazdaspeed 3. Definitely a fun little car once you put a rear solid motor mount on it.

I have the 6 speed manual, no problems other than radiator needed replaced. I'm still on the original brake pads... just hit 120k

I think I definitely want to stay with RWD but I do kinda like the looks on the newer Honda Accords. Anyone own one of them?

I have no kids so I definitely don't want any one of those gas saver compact cars, more along the lines of sporty/comfort type of cars. Yes I know I'm picky on my cars but I'm also gonna spend some good pennies on these cars.

I'd pass on an e55 or any foreign car that is out of warranty. Unless you really want to work on your own ride or pay big bucks at a shop.

Well I've always worked on my own cars so I just worry about common issues and part prices.

I'm looking for a DD also... Getting rid of the 2013 Lexus is250 F sport...

I would recommend it to anyone that isn't to big lol. I'm 6ft. And I hit my head getting into that thing. I had a black 550i m sport before and I loved it. But I'm sticking to Lexus again. Might look at some gs350s

Only Camaros I like are the first generation. Plus I have a better chance leaving my fox out at night than a catfish nowadays.

Hard to beat a newer bmw with a manual transmission and rwd for a well-rounded daily driver.

350z/370z.

Or G35/G37 if you want a backseat/more comfort.

Choosing a new DD is harder than I thought. I'm going to keep looking around at some of the suggestions I like. I don't want to just jump on any car too soon and end up regretting it.

x2 to this. Get yourself a reliable 4 banger and have the 5.0 as a like a weekend warrior so when it breaks you will still have a nice daily. A cheap reliable car is a 97/01 camry.

I hear what you guys are saying but I just want something else. I currently DD a '04 325i, it has no issues it's just that I'm kinda tired of it but I also don't want no bucket.
