I don't think so. I hope the 49ers don't over pay him. If he gets the 18 mil we will not be a dominat team. I think any quarteback does well under harbaughs system. I think he should get paid as a 10-18 qb in the league maybe 10-13 mil a year. Not 18 mil thats top 6 money.

Posted by Elliott@DetailAddict (Member # 11424) on :

I agree. He also needs to be more consistent to earn that kind of money.

If he won those big games yes, but he hasn't yet. Harbaughs the winner

hell fuckin no!! not even 2 mill imo!

Hell no hes not worth 18million. If he wanted that 18million he should of won the last 2 years. But he fucked it up both times so that money is long gone. Hes worth 5mill

I really hope the 49ers don't invest anymore into Kap. He has t shown enough improvement IMHO to recieve that substantial of a contract. Let him play out his contract and see how they finish next season. He's got more offensive players then most & a defense that's been able to shut teams down. Until he wins a SB. I don't see any reason to pay someone that kind of money.

Guys like Arron Rodgers, Manning's , Drew and Brady are guys I could see paying that kind of money. Yeah I left out Big Ben only cause he gets hurt too much.

Definitely not, although you can look at the two last big games they lost and point to the coaches play calling just as much as you can to the QB. But this is today's sports man players and agents force teams to overpay, you think Cutler in Chicago or Romo in Dallas are worth their contracts, Hell NO!

Not to stir the pot but you're biased towards Kaep because of how much you like Alex Smith. That being said I don't know about 18 million but the market is set for QB's and if were his representatives I would argue that Colin Kaepernick is better than Jay cutler(who got 18 mil/year). I honestly would draft a QB high in the draft every three years so I wouldn't cripple my teams financial future with over paying for a quarterback unless it was a Tom Brady/Peyton Manning type player.

Brady> manning, Payton's a joke in the postseason except for 1 year he got lucky.

I would do the same. Have players just play out their Rookie contracts. Keep around only the tue game changers and offensive linemen.

Exactly! if Cutler and Romo can get that much and they are not as talented or as accomplished as kapernick then he deserves to get paid as well. Im thinking 15 million a year is good.

i hope we don't pay him much. i like him, but he is not an elite QB. he's got speed and can run, but as a tradition QB, i would say he's average.

What do you guys mean Romo is not worth it??? LOL!

In all serisousness, I still think Kap needs to prove that he can be more consistent. The strong 49er defense hides a lot of his inconsistincies. If I were the 49ers, I'd wait to see what he does in 2014.

Kaep right now, is not worth 18 mil. But romo and cutler are even further off deserving that kind of pay. Kaeps agent had to throw a number out. Think of it like Craig's list, you start high so you don't get low baller. [Big Grin]

49ers are sinking. No way in hell is Kaep worth 18 mil and players are sick of Harbaugh cause he's a crybaby on the field and treats players like dogs in the locker rooms.

Im not a big fan of Kap, I think with some more time and good coaching he could be molded into a good QB but he aint worth $18 mil.

Really? Your the biggest hater here with your stupid ass hashtags, #dumbshit the niners aren't sinking they're QB is in their prime they have a young talented offensive line, the best linebacking core in all of football and one of the best pass rushers in the NFL so please stop with your garbage. I'm not with all the antics on the sideline like you stated but Harbaugh has never once thrown any player under the bus. The media members that don't like Harbaugh because he doesn't "interview well" just want to start drama.

Bottom line is the quarterback gets too much praise when the team wins and too much grief win they lose. The question is really not is he worth it but what does the market show he should make, it's just like the housing market, the bears, cowboys and lions set the market for QB's that haven't won superbowls but are important for their team.

Come on man. I didn't even bring up Alex Smith. [Razz]

All I know is Kap's talking 20 mil now so his agent is really trying to get paid LOL. If I was in charge id counter this proposal with, " Ok..... We will give you 20 mil.... For 5 years. For every playoff win we will give you an extra million and a 5 million dollar bonus IF you can will a SB.

I'll bet we do see something incentivized. He's not going to get 18 million a year guaranteed.

And to who said the 49ers are sinking... You said that before the season. Brilliant. [Roll Eyes]

Well I tried to tell you LAST YEAR that Seattle was gonna give the 49ers trouble and I believe you said they couldn't win on the road. Well the Seahawks finished 13-3 regular season so I guess nobody's right all the time.

Now go order a couple more of those Kap fatheads to put above your bed Archy.

You must not keep up on your team. Kaepernick had lost every big game his team has played in. According to media Harbaugh treats players like dogs in the locker rooms. There was already talks between SF and Cleveland to send Harbaugh to the Browns but it was turned down. Your qb is in his prime? They guy can make plays I'll give him that, he just can't make the same big plays when they matter. No Kaep is not worth 18 million a year. Maybe 9-11 mil TOPS if that!

Frist means first from gay ass raider fan. I heard they were trying to sign mark Sanchez so that's why they wanna get in on our team rumors. Kaepernick deserves higher pay, niners should make him earn it next season. 1 1/2 years and now Payton manning money is never going to happen. Mark Sanchez has the same playoff record kaepernick has if I'm not mistaken lol

I don't think he's worth it either but kaep is 26 I think and that's smack in his prime, he's a playmaker and he's the type of qb you need if you want to compete against seattle every year. I think that story was way over blow and even Anquan Boldin came out and said the team is behind harbaugh so the rift you keep talking about was fabricated by the media that can't stand harbaugh.

Kaep is worth as much as any other quarterback that has gotten to the conference championship 3 years in a row... With a Super Bowl appearance in that same time frame.

and most of all, Kaep is worth what a team is willing to pay him.

SF LOST to the NY Giants in the first Conference Championship game, Kaepernick LOST to the Ravens in the Super Bowl, Kaepernick LOST to Seattle in the Conference Championship....sure does sound like a whole lot of LOSING...

Well. He's got more playoff WINS than most of the QBs in the league. Do you not realize that, stupid fuck? More than cutler and romo combined. He's been clutch. Brought is back vs ATL in the NFC champ game. He got back to the NFC champ game the next year. Hey guess what. Still doesn't have two full seasons starting. A lot of greats have gotten 3 years in the league of sitting and watching another starter. So if we are able to use him still in those learning years, and he's serviceable enough to get to championship positions every year. I'll take it. Who cares what you think. You don't have a team faggot. You were a "hawks fan" that used to like the raiders. Then started routing for SF literally in moment when it looked like they'd advance to the SB. You even said they "are going to smack the broncos in the SB. Let's go Niners!"

Faggot. [Roll Eyes]

Your qb is in his prime? They guy can make plays I'll give him that, he just can't make the same big plays when they matter. No Kaep is not worth 18 million a year. Maybe 9-11 mil TOPS if that!
Either you don't know the definition of "big game" or your math skills are nonexistent. I do agree with you on Harbaugh though, players hate playing for winning coaches on winning teams...
SF LOST to the NY Giants in the first Conference Championship game, Kaepernick LOST to the Ravens in the Super Bowl, Kaepernick LOST to Seattle in the Conference Championship....sure does sound like a whole lot of LOSING...

Kaep is not worth it but he will get something close to it. Browns, Jags, Vikings, Raiders, Titans, and Texans all desperately need a QB. Three of those teams will likely get one in the draft but the point is if the Niners don't overpay Kaep, there are always teams willing to overpay for talent they couldn't get otherwise.

and most of all, Kaep is worth what a team is willing to pay him.

He hasn't played in 3 consecutive NFC title games. Nor will he.

Just like you predicted the 49ers missing the playoffs last season. [Roll Eyes]

ouch, no need to get personal now. The niners have proved they're the type of team that put a price tag on a player and if he doesn't like that figure than oh well they have a GM that will replace him for much less money hence letting go of Goldson and drafting Reid.

Lmfao!!! Didn't have anything to say when I prove how stupid your predictions are.
By the way, that was my car at 16. 8 years ago. You honestly try and "dig for dirt" on me and find a picture of shotty grey interior on a car I had when I was 16. Which by the way I still liked. It was clean otherwise and had some stuff done. What car did you drive at 16? Please tell me. Show me even. Faggot.

Oh. Another funny thing is that at least 2 or 3 people on this site still use the exterior picture of this car as their avatar. [patriot]

I didn't drive at 16..... But I got this when I was 18.

Now back on topic. Kap isn't worth 18m a year. No QB is worth 18m a year!!!!

Cool. Well you wanted to get off topic.. How is me driving a 13 second 5.0 at 16 a problem when you weren't even driving at that age?

I didn't say hes worth 18. That's a starting point. He will probably sign for 13-16 mil. We'll see.

Damn, you gotta be cleaner than that arch. I've had some shitty fifties before but never looked that gross inside. Hopefully you're driving something classier than that now.
