H/C/I means "heads,cam,intake"!!!!!!!!!
As in......AFTERMARKET heads,AFTERMARKET cam,AFTERMARKET intake.Just because your car has factory 351 heads or 289 heads, factory hyd roller camshaft, and a painted factory intake does not make it H/C/I!!!!!!!!
Most gasoline engines come with heads, cam, and intake, that does not mean they qualify as an H/C/I combination.
STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is gonna come as a shock to quite a few people on here too, lol.

Thank You Sir
I have been waiting for a thread like this for ages. I see so many jackasses on CL with ads that say H/C/I and guess what they have some truck cyl. heads a truck cam and an explorer intake. Just because they got burned on the deal dont mean I want to. Lol seriously !

With GT40P heads though, require springs to match the cam, and aftermarket headers to fit the spark plug angle. With an aftermarket cam , you most likely went ahead and install a new timing chain that's adjustable.on top of that the GT40P heads have been known to add 40hp at the flywheel. Lets say you got that plus a nice intake like a TFS or Edelbrock that matches your other parts(rpm range) I'd say that's a nice HCI combo. Say 2out of 3 is coo, with receipts for the springs, cam, and timing chain, and maybe for that machine shop labor on the valve job,hot tank and magnaflux.

I agree 100%. I actually wrote a post like this this but decided not to post it. I really hate to see iron GT40s listed as H/C/I. Granted they are better than stock and run hard if set-up right but I wouldn't consider the H/C/I. Exporer GT40s, an E-cam and Explorer upper/lower isn't H/C/I.

I think if u modded and upgraded your hci in any way then u can say you have hci setup. As long as they're specific I don't mind it. It's just a way for pple to say it has an upgraded top end even if it's backyard parts.

gt40s suck,i mean if your on a broke mans budget they still suck,if your a retarded homo and put them on a stroker than you are really really broke or really realy dumb, h/c/i id say should be non-ford parts

What about the 4V modular motors?

They dont make aftermarket heads or intakes for those motors.(except sullivan but they stopped making them)

It wasn't stated but if you look at the OP he's referring to SBF parts as is most everyone else.

What about the people with stick ass motors that say its got an "e" cam. Get the fuck out of here. Who in there right mind is just going to do a cam only then leave the everything stock ? That shit cracks me up. On a side note built gt-40 heads on a stang I would consider an upgrade with a cam intake that would = H/C/I

Gt-40's arent the best head. But i think they were the first "aftermarket" head, even though they were a Ford part. They qualify as The H in H/C/I to me.Its the "ported"(poorly at that) stock heads, gasket matched stock heads....etc,that i take issue with. And im not being a hater, its just not true or correct to say you have H/C/I when bragging about or selling a car with stock heads,no matter what you had done to them.
