Got the car back today and OH MY GOD this thing hauls ass. Shaun did a stand up job on this one and it runs TITS. Took a little while to get done between the parts i ordered getting delayed and vacations. But oh man it was well worth the wait. Car feels like its stock until i put my foot on it and the power band is real nice. I wasn't able to be there for the tune but when i got to the shop i got the final numbers and i am quite impressed for my setup. Anyway here's what it made....

477rwhp & 502rwtq

So my lil' "cookie cutter cobra" should cut quite a few cars down..... if i can learn to drive it [Razz]

Now its top ramen for the rest of the month

*Ford GT Cams
*2.81 Pulley
*Billetflow Idler
*K&N fenderwell elbow
*Billetflow TB/plenum
*High flow valves
*Comp Cam springs/retainers
*Bassani catted x & catback

As you can see its got minimal mods with not a whole lot done to the car really. Only pushing 14# of boost with a stock blower, fuel system and everything else. Was talking to Shaun and he said the numbers are when the car was hot. He would expect it to make near 490rwhp when not heat soaked and in the 600's once I get the whipple or KB and proper fuel system. The car is plenty for me now and I have a lot of room to grow since I don't have all the bolt ons.

So now I need to learn to drive the car. Expect a get together once I have gas money

Mach916 I only have the hard copy off the graph. Made peak hp @ 6075rpm. Glad to know I can run each gear for a while.

EastBay50 Actually it was 50 long grueling days. Fitting for 50 Deep. Haha

Luke96svt 10 second slips eventually. Probably run a 13 my first time out. Then spend some time in the 12's and then finally some 11's. 10's would be a dream.

How does the car sound with cams?

It sounds stock. You can barely tell at idle........ barely. The ford GT cams are mild in regards to your comp/shm/crower cams you would see. Still smog legal and no affects on driveability.

I think the GXP would be a tough one to crack for Scott's CTS-V and Chad's Vette. Your Cobra is a different story. My car's a fatty. Its a good 300lbs heavier than your Cobra and down 40-50hp. I think you'll pull on me pretty good.

Give me some corners and I'd bet my family sedan will give you a hard time though. [Big Grin]

I'm going with the PRC cnc'd 5.3 heads, and a PatG custom cam. It won't be big, most likely 226 on a 116+2-3 the idle will hardly change. And I've personally seen 228 on 112 cars with high flow cats pass with ease. I'm looking to pass the sniffer, not too concerned with visual. Should be about 450rw... And as I said, a little 100 shot for play time. Lol

I've thought about stepping up to something mild like an LS7 or LS9 cam but I question if the gains would be worth the expense. Livernois Motorsports has a solid selection of cams as well. With only 7K on the car now, I probably wouldn't do that for a bit, if at all.

Got the cams and springs in but the cams were the wrong ones and rusted. So I got my money back for the cams and ordered the GT's instead. Part of what delayed the build time

It has the stock 3.55's out back. It will still walk loose in 2nd and I haven't hit it hard going into 3rd. I have been baby shifting it still until I get used to the gear box. I'm realizing now how much more superior the MGW is compared to the tri-ax I have now.

Yeah I remember seeing some threads on some bad a** car he had. And honestly he will probably lay my car to waste. But I got heart and I'm not gonna let anyone rag on my car or the choices I made. I have a lot of love for and like to learn from the guys that are ahead of me. Shit it makes me a better driver and helps me avoid a lot of mistakes. Everyone loved it when I had a slow 96 cobra and a multi-colored fox. But since I got my 03 there's a lot of people I thought who had my back acting like I made a bad choice, aren't happy, or front like the 03/04 cobras arent one of the best mustangs ford has ever produced. Coming from the fox I made big step up in the game, but also brought out a lot of "haters" as some would call it. And if that's the case I will gladly defend my position. My car isn't the fastest or best mustang anyones ever owned, but it is the fastest/best mustang I have ever owned and I don't plan on believing any different anytime soon

Coming from the fox I made big step up in the game, but also brought out a lot of "haters" as some would call it.
Who is being a hater??? I hope your not trying to put me in that category? I never once hated on you or your car, I have called Cobras "cookie cutter" before you ever had 1, & as far as the Z06 thread, thats not hating, that is stating facts. I still stand behind my statement, the Z06 is in another league than a pullied Cobra.

I am happy that you finally got the car you wanted for so long, no haterism here...

Not everybody wishes they had a Cobra. If i wanted a Cobra, I could easily get 1. I have 2 mustangs & a DD, so if I wanted a Cobra so bad, all I would have to do is sell the Mach to purchase a Cobra, & then I could sell the coupe to purchase a whipple swap, & the supporting mods... i wouldnt mind having a 03/04 cobra but i dont "wish" i had one....i love my car and prob wouldnt trade it for anything.

Another thing is, its nice to own the title to your car and not worry bout payments
