So im super serious about the weight loss thing and bought the full P90X workout system - Chin up bar, dvd's, supplements, resistance bands ect - Im gonna post the pics of before and after, and would just like a little support. Please dont rag on me, i figure the mustang community would come together to help a brother out who wants to be healthy for his kid. Pics of Day 1 will be up tommorw and I will bump this thread every 15 days.

Come on guys I really need your support/motivation!

My bro is halfway though P90x.. def works!
From what he says, you just have to stick to the plan. Follow the diet by every detail, and you should see good results.
Let's see if he chimes in...

P90x is cool if you just wanna get in general shape, but if you want to get mass you should throw in a tougher weight routine.

If you look up 300 workout on youtube its like the same thing as P90x but free....

It works. I did it for the first two months then goofed off the third. I stopped drinking for the first month then again during the second and third lol.
The diet is rough so I basically made something easy to make usually ate it all plain because thoses damn sauces looked to time consuming.
But all in all three months I dropped 25lbs weighed almost 200 at start finished around 175. I haven't gained the weight back either and want to go a second round but I'm too damn busy at the moment

Still on the p90x....I find that the hardest part is eating exactly what is planned. The sauces are time consuming and most of the soups are nasty in my opinion.
Not easy to do if other in the family are eating junk food and temptation is all around the house because of them. *You will find that the workouts are CRAZY and will kick your ass but worth it. Good luck

I like the core workout and use it to this day. It is working great for a friend of mine but he says it is pretty hard to follow exactly.

Good Luck, you'll be surprised how much can be achieved with just changing your diet.

My wife is doing it and she's lost about 30 pounds. But she hasn't stuck to the workout and she has started over a couple times and it's been about a year now. If she would just stick to the thing I think she'd be bangin once again. [Eek!]

Well day one down -

That workout was brutal. I was sweating like a pig, but damn i feel good right now. The stretching was crazy, and I dont think I have ever done that many pull ups/push ups in one day. I had to start cheating at the end with the knees down, and for pullup I had to have one foot on a chair.

I gotta finish it off with their ab ripperwhen i get home tonight.

Ya the diet is crazy as well. I went through and tossed all the garbage out in my kitchen. For breakfast I had 6 egg whites, scrambled with some chees and a piece of toast.

Had to choke that one down - but I gotta get in shape for my kiddo.

you are pretty much doing alot of different style push-ups and pull-ups, weight lifting. On the cardio days...you are either jumpin around, yoga, or karate!

Is there some kind of scientific thing to this or is it just lifting, high intensity, cardio and diet? Because it seems to me that most just need a routine put together for them. Doesn't seem all that "new" to me.

ive never used it but i think its just a very well put together circuit training regiment and a good diet.

not many people know a proper diet or know how to actually train right...these dvd's take care of all that in your living room.

This is it right there. But it also switches up the routine for muscle confusions. A lot of people plateau (like I did) and this takes plateuing out of the equasion. Plust I can do it in my livingrooom with some dumbells and a pull up bar. Makes it super convienent.

And I her the Plyometrics are brutal. Im doing the Ab Ripper X when i get home lol

Mike

I found that it was nothing new to me either. So I took what I could from it and introduced it to my workout. But for a person with a set ambitious goal like the OP or a person just getting started. It is worth its weight in gold for the education alone. And it actually works.

Keep us posted on your progress.

All I can say is that if you work to get the weight off then you have to make a lifestyle change to keep it off. If you go back to that regular old shit before you lost the weight then you're going to gain all that weight back AND MORE.

Well did Plyometrcs today and its pretty much the most absurd, rediculous workout ive ever done in my life - hard to walk

If you dont know what Plyo is look it up - i thought it was gonna be easy, but turns out to be the hardest workout they have...

Posted by WildFire532FB (Member # 1482) on :

Yep I've done that one. All legs pretty much. You should do the ab ripper x or whatever it is after every video you do. Its only 15 more minutes of PT

How much did you pay for all that by the way?

try blending 2 bananas, a few frozen strawberries, a cup or 2 of orange juice and some TASTELESS (tasteless is the key, buy it at costco) protein. it tastes like jamba juice and helps with soreness in the mornings. also makes a pretty damn good breakfast
