Friend has a Project we dropped a ford 342, p heads, explorer intake, f cam, running stock Ford Explorer coil packs and crank trigger from the explorer.

He has it all wired into the micro squirt, we have been trying to get the thing to start/run the past few evenings, without much success. As of tonight we can get it to start for about 5-10 sec, it surges the whole time, then dies.

I'm not familiar with this stuff, and honestly haven't tried to tune a car for the past 15 years (eec tuner days), so I could use some help if possible.

Any ticks/hints/help?

Does the car stay alive if you open the throttle manually after it fires up? If it stays alive, it's probably a fuel issue. Guess is it's too rich if it's surging. How much timing advice are you running at idle?
