I rebuilt a 1966 mustang for my senior project with my grandpa. We had to redo every single thing on the car. It has been on the road for about a month, but the issue is that the battery is being drained while driving and when the car is off. It has a brand new battery that has been recharged twice and it is dead once again. I have a brand new alternator and brand new regulator. there is no radio as of now. I dont know if it is being drained while off or running but it seems like its not charging while running more than when it is off. Im dying to drive my year and a half project around. Somebody please help!

Delete thr regulator and throw a one wire on it. But first check to see if the battery is getting around 14volts while its running. Best thing to do is get a multimeter and check for draws in the system while its off.

I just tested it the battery had 11.05 and went down from there continually. Friday night I jump started the car and drove it a mile down the street home and let it sit for 3 days, it started with 11.05 today which confused me. it just keeps getting lower and lower while its running.

Are you sure the voltage regulator is working? Throw a volt meter on the battery when the engine is running. If the voltage isn't 13.5 or more volts, then it isn't charging.

Be careful trying to start with a battery that low. You could end up getting the starter relay stuck in the on position and melt some wires. Also sounds like it's not charging.
