So i just tried to install a 351w trick flow lower intake manifold on to my 351w to do the efi conversion.. but there is a gap between the intake manifold & where it sits on the block.. all the bolts line up perfectly except for ONE bolt on the front driver side.. all the ports seem to line up too..

Any ideas why i could be having the issues?

Or will it be ok if i just lay down a thick layer of RTV on that part?

Dont want to mill down the intake because once i finish the efi swap, i will be swapping motor and using this same intake manifold withthe other motor.. i decided to use the existing motor for now since its a good running motor and will reduce the guess-work incase i have to troubleshoot..

check to see if there is a pin in block was reading my instruction for install and said early blocks may have several pins to help locate the stock intake.

Same 351w with the airgap?

Pin in the block? Where would the pin be?

And yeah same one.. i think the last owner might have had the same problem and forcefully tighten it, which is why it probably cracked..

first page in check list and then page four it talks about it. sounds like maybe he broke the airgap by over looking the dowel pin?
