I'm considering my next build, and don't want to deal with emissions anymore, so, I'm picking up a Maverick/Comet in the upcoming months. I have a really good prospect in the works for the chassis, but can't really get too specific on the car, as its not a done deal. The car has a manual trans.

Here's the combo, or the parts I have on hand:

B&M 144 complete kit, I 'think' its 10lb pullied
Trick Flow Twisted Wedges, LocRinged already
TFS1 Cam
850 Holley center squirter carb, 1:1 linkage.

Stuff I'm considering:

9.5 compression 331 rotating assembly, 28oz, fully balanced.
ARP main and head studs.
1.6 roller rockers.

The main purpose of the car is a light, quick street cruiser, not a racecar. It will have DR's at the stickiest, and probably 98 percent of the time it'll have street radials. The chassis has a 9in w/4;11's and a spool already. I don't plan to spin the motor over 5,500, as there's no benefit to doing so with this blower. I do plan to have the car dyno tuned, and also plan to have some type of retardable ignition system.

What do you guys think? Any recommendations? A Dart/Boss block is out of the question at this point, due to budget.

Custom cam instead of tfs-1 to the most out of your entire combo. Ive never driven a car with a spool in the rear but have read plenty of places they are not good for street driving? maybe someone can shed some light on that.

sounds like a decent setup so far; hope the deal works out in your favor

I'd rather have a limited slip, but its whats in the car. It does have the bigger axles, 35 spline I think, instead of 28/31 spline factory units.

The fuel system is another concern I have, and I bet bigger is better in the supply department. Possibly 1/2 inch lines?
