Hey folks here's the deal I recently got my car going its been sitting for about 5 months since it was in a front end collision. I've replace the smog pump beacuse it was broke in the accident and since replaced it now that I've put in on and fired the car up it sqeaks very loud and smokes @ times the belt won't move . What can it be ? Belt to tight,worn out belt,,misaligned pulley,broken damper ? Idk any idea what it can be guys ?

the new smog pump you put on might be seized up.. did you check to see if it spins freely with your hand without the belt on?

Yea I spun it and rolled just fine all my pillows seem to be alligned it sqeals pretty loud smokes and shuts off !

how about your a/c condensor & power steering pump?? everything is spinning freely? Which pulley is the belt smoking near?
Take off the belt, spin everything(a/c, power steering, alternator, smog pump, water pump, tensioner) by hand and make sure everything is spinning freely.. If everything is spinning freely, then start the car without the belt and see if it stays on.. just make sure you dont leave it on too long because it will overheat real fast!!

It got dark and stoped messing with it I will check what pulley is not spinning thanks guys

Smog pump isn't good. Mine used to squeak for a couple of days then it got bad to where it sounded like my whole motor was bad.

Yeah my smog pump is seized wont even spin shit just bought it from foxbody too .
