Topic: Heading to get my Car "tuned" what to do?

Ok so ill admit i have never taken a car in to get "tuned" I have always found some way around it. but besides that ill get to the point.
I doing a 5.4 Swap into my 4.6 2v vehicle (the crown vic) and will soon need some one/place to reprogram the ecu or something along those lines. Ill also be slapping on PI heads, doing exhaust work, high stall converter, intake work, and gears.
So my question is what should i be prepared to tell the shop? should i just make a list of all the parts i used? should the car be completely "running"? what if it wont start due to some sensor or something that i cant control?
Also, anybody know a place up here by Sacramento?

should run ok; most likely it will run rich.your staying 2v just more displacement and bolt ons/porting?
i replaced my 96gt 2v with a modded 97 cobra motor, only codes where because of the rear 02 weren't hooked up(already had irmc valves deleted no provisions for gts pc for that = no lights) Drove it for 6 months no issues at all ran alot better than the tired 2v
As for tune i never made it to the dyno with mine. i would just check all sensors and replace if you need to. 02's, iac, maf, fuel filter, make sure no issues with anything else.
If your in Sac the shop for tuning is AED, they should help out with any questions about the tuning process; or one of their customers from here can help out there seems to be plenty of AED Customers here

Hey there, I don't know much about mod motors, but I can tell you that you definitely definitely want your car running as close to perfect as you can get.
Some shops won't even take it without it running well. Any malfunctioning sensors, any exhaust or vacuum leaks, any mechanical issues will not only take away from the potential, but it also gives the shop and easy easy out if there's any issues when you leave.
OR, they will say it needs to be fixed, and since you're already there and already paid your $400 or whatever it is for your session, you then get to pay them at $150/hr on top of that...just to fix a vacuum leak. So, make sure it runs well and everything is in good working order.

Call the shop that is going to tune it and ask them.. that would be your best bet
