Topic: Smoke from exhaust!!

So i just put a stock 4 cat H pipe on my car, and it throws out clouds of smoke whenever i give it gas.. at idle its fine, the smoke is only when i gas it.. Its blackish smoke..
Could it be because the H pipe has been sitting outside for a while?
Or what could it be?
It didnt do that with the offroad pipe.. and this H pipe passed smog late last year..
Should i let the cats warm up and maybe it will go away?

If it did not smoke before there might be contaminates in the new system. But that should not last long. Black smoke means the engine is rich. How long have you been running it ??

No smoke before. Ive had this setup on my car for a while.. only thing ive changed is the offroad H pipe to a stock 4 cat H pipe.. I turned on the car, saw the smoke and turned it off.. ill let it run for a while tomorrow and see if it goes away..

Did you swap o2 sensors or are they the same ones?

Same o2 sensors.. theyre basically new though.. less than 2000 miles on em..

Not sure on mileage but it passed smog last year and hasnt been used since..
I drove the car around a bit yesterday and the smoking is barely there now.. might just have been because the H pipe had been sitting for a while..

That was my thought from the beginning. The pipe had some junk in it.

i agree with red50 run it for awhile. a couple hours and if the smoke doesnt go away go back to the other pipe. if it still smokes on old pipe. something is wrong somewhere. black or blue smoke?
