just wondering what it could be. when its cold, and i drive it makes a periodic wistle/howl sound.its not on going,it goes away when warm, and its only when the car is moving. stays the same whether the clutch is in or not.it is not clutch related.on hot day even if the car is cold it doesnt do it. only on cold days for the first half mile it will make the sound periodicly

You knoe those hollow tubes you get at the fair and you swing them around and they make that sound, thats exactly what it sounds like

Mine just started doing the same thing I have an 01 gt at first I thought it was the pulleys or the belt but how would I know I'm not a mechanic [Smile] it doesn't bother me or effect the driving performance so I just ignore it

Could be a worn out idler pulley that tightens up as the engine warms up. Next time you have that issue, pull the belt off the engine and see if it goes away.
