So, i was asking before about stiffening up the steering in my 88 GT. It feels like the power steering is over-assisted.. very touchy on the freeway, sometimes can be hard to control with no road feel.

So, my car has a duralast power steering pump, fairly new. And it has a duralast power steering rack. I checked autozone's website, and they list 4 different racks. Mine is the "standard" 3 turn lock-to-lock unit. I notice they have a "sport" 2.5 turn lock-to-lock unit.... will this stiffen up my steering?

Or any other ideas on reducing power steering pressure?? Its sometimes hard to drive this damn thing.. steering is too quick.

No it will make it worse...
The its like the standard one you vsn spin the wheel in full rotation 3 times
If you get the 2 .you can spin the wheel in full rotation 2 times...

I think you got the wrong part and had gotten the sport steering ... I had that one installed in my wife old car and it was sharp but not too compared to my standard rotation maybe your joints rubber thingys are going bad

Thanks for the replies..

I bought the car the way it sits a month or so ago. It was aligned when the rack was installed, as well as poly bushings on the entire front suspension. It just honestly feels like the pump is producing too much pressure... i need to find a way to reduce it, or restrict it. Or swap pumps and racks and see if it improves... [Frown]
