its a 88 GT. Im trying to get ready for smog. I currently have all off road stuff on. 2 years ago when i passed smog it was with my catted bbk xpipe. Before i put it back on i went to go ask if i could use it again. Guy said no, guess more strict. I still have the stock 1.

Guy at the muffler shop said that my bbk headers wont fit the stock h-pipe. Shouldnt it be a direct fit? any help is appreciated thanks

Yea that's what I was saying. He said something about the diameter of the shorties are to big for the stock one and air will leak. Another question while you guys answered.

Car will pass smog with 4 cats and no mufflers huh. Cus My stock hpipe has no mufflers on.

Well you're not suppose to weld mufflers to your midpipe. Your mufflers should be welded to your tailpipes and have flowtubes to connect the midpipe to catback with bolts.

kinda has nothing to do with what he asked ^

and yes they will fit, and yes it will pass without mufflers, but some shops might complain that theres no tailpipes.

Yes you answered my question. I went to a smog station and he said as long as his smog stick fits in there he can do it. Don't wanna spend money welding mufflers to a pipe I won't use. Thanks guys got what I needed. Just need to get the pipe on

Does any one know if a Bassanni off road xpipe with JBA shorty headers will fit with out any leaks? I have my off road xpipe on my car now but i havnt got around to putting my JBA headers on. Will i run into a problem when i go to put my headers on. Problems meaning any leaks or not lining up properly?

Thanks CA Fords,

Charles
