If you're going to build a rear end do it once, ditch those C-clips and go with 9" ends.

C-clips? 9"? You mean a 9" rear-end? I'm ok with 8.8 not building a track car just a fast DD.

The 9" ends get welded onto your 8.8 housing eliminating the C-clips. So you'll still have the 8.8.

the 9 inch ends is what i meant. and only a experienced rear end shop should do this as well. as for a 31 spline any posi 8.8 truck at the junk yard has them, then get the axels thru north race car brackets place. i think they really had the best deals on the axles with the correct hub centric stuff if u wanted.

Or you can just run some C-Clip Eliminators with that setup in the link that you provided. Not a bad price either on that stuff. It would would be a pretty damn tough rear-end. [ November 27, 2012, 06:34 PM: Message edited by: Nifty50 ]

So do stock run c-clips? Is it a worthy kit or should I go FRPP?

How fast do you plan on going?

At 10.99 or faster you have to eliminate the c-clips per NHRA rule book.
So you can get 9in ends put on your 8.8 (which I recommend) or get c-clip eliminators from Strange (Which I run but can be a pain in the ass when you have to take the axles out) regardless of which route you choose, they both require cutting of the axle housing. Any 31 spline non c-clip axles of your choice (I recommend Strange) and an 03-04 cobra diff will be a good street setup. [ November 27, 2012, 10:28 PM: Message edited by: Boss 327 ]

Is it unsafe to run C-clips at those E.T's? I don't race track.

Look up Strange Engineering. Should have everything you need except diff. Just get a stock 03-04 cobra one.

If you hook hard and the clips break, your whole axle with wheel, tire and brakes will come off.
It's a safety thing. Like having a roll cage, harness belts, ect. [ November 27, 2012, 11:42 PM: Message edited by: Boss 327 ]
