I'm getting ready to choose an aftermarket MAF for my 94 GT, there are a few to choose from out there. I need one calibrated for 24 lb injectors. I found a C&L ON EBAY for a pretty good price, then the BBK and PRO M are a bit more, has anyone on here tried any of these and had success or failure ? I'm trying to choose as carefully as I can. Thanks ....

From what we've experienced here at the shop, C&Ls=junk ..BBK=junk ..Pro-Ms are a hit or miss.. they either work okay or they dont.. usually have an idling problem and we dont recommend them. We recommend the SCT Big Airs. They tend to work the best.. but do require a tune as there is no calibration for any set injectors.

Thanks for the input, but how are bbk and c&l "junk" ?what's the problem with them? Why is the pro m a bit better?

BBKs arent really great "quality" IMO. C&Ls aren't even a MAF.. its just a different MAF adapter that changes the diameter of the sample tube where the MAF sensors go into. Pro-Ms used to be great in quality. Back when tuners weren't really available, people would buy the Pro-M MAFs because they were already set to work with the injectors of your choice. Nowadays, we see cars that have a bunch of idling issues and we have had problems on the dyno where the MAF doesn't want to work properly. Sometimes its just the luck of the draw.. and sometimes the Pro-Ms mess up when people send the Pro-Ms back in to get recalibrated for a different set of injectors. In the last 3-4 months, we have already had a few cars that ended up having bad Pro-M MAFs. We have yet to have an issue with the SCT Mass Air Flow Sensors and that is why we recommend those.

How much power are you planning on pushing with your car?

Aftermarket MAF sensor go hand in hand with the tuning aspect of the 94-95 cars. What is your setup...stock computer? A bump to 24lb injectors might be too small if you are planning to go heavy on the mods. From most of the 94-95 guys I know the Pro-M or the SCTs work too. In my opinion if you plan to have some tuning done stay away from the C&Ls.

The pro m sounds like the way to go then.on the other hand though, summit sells one too, and they have an excellent return policy from my experience. I just have a concern that if the pro m is buggy and doesn't work perfect, that I will have a hard time returning it and getting my money back. Where have you guys ordered your pro m meters from, and have you been satified with the vendors tech supports and return policies? Anyone on here use the summit brand ? Thanks again for all your advice on this.
