ok so I noticed that my air is only coming out of the windshield vent even tho the selector switch isnt set to the defrost position..I turned the knob to max a/c and the a/c comperssor clutch isnt even locking up..any ideas? i know that is vaccum actuated so im going to check the vaccum hoses and connections tomorrow morning..

the selector switch and or various other pieces behind it may have broken? its easy to pull that whole unit out youll need some torx bits i believe! you can see if anythings come undone or broken off! [patriot]

The black Plastic vacuum line that supplies the vacuum to the controls is broken. The line comes out of the firewall where the heater hoses are and runs along the rear of the firewall to the brake booster area to the vacuum tree.
This small black plastic line will be broken eithe along the way or at the rubber fitting at the end. If line is broken mid way use a piece of vacuum hose to connect broken pieces back together. If broken off at rubber fitting drill out broken piece insert line and Super Glue in.
With no vacuum it will default to the windshield defrost setting.
Very common problem, with an easy fix
