Hey I have a few questions about my 82 mustang 5.0 lx.. I have never had a carb 5.0 so my questions might seem kindergarten, but any help & advice will be greatly appreciated..
1) What all do I need to convert it to Mass Air? List of parts would be real helpful =)
2) What year roller motor with efi would be best to drop in it?
3) What are your guys' opinion on the AOD trans? I want it to be automatic but Ive heard a lotta bad stories about the AOD.. Is it any good, oooorrrr....?
4) What year Hoods will fit? I know the 87-93 hoods wont fit, but will the 83-86 hood work on this year?
5) It is bone stock right now.. What are the first mods I should start with? 5-lug, suspension, efi, roller swap, or..??
Like I said, I have never had a carb 5.0 before so I'm a little lost.. I've had a LOT of fox mustangs over time, but they've all been efi.. So, ANY help & advice is great.. Thanks.. =)

I'm in the same boat as you but my coupe is a 79. The easiest way to go mass air or efi for that matter. Is to get: Complete 87-93 fuel system including tank lines rails Also if you want to keep the dash you need to get all wiring harnesses from an 86 meaning body harness an a9p ecu an 86 main harness and then get your regular engine harnesses. Also I would just get a nice either rebuilt or stroker motor if that's the route you want to go anyways. Plus our cars come with a c4 3 speed auto. If you like a performance auto build up the c4 and have your fun. Also don't waste your time going 4 lug with possi just go 5 lug to make it easy on your self and your wallet. Also when you go 5 lug use 94/95 spindles and foxbody shocks and struts. Also your either going to need washers stacked at .330 or use steeda x2 ball joints or the whole sn95 control arm but that option might spread your track width a bit. In rambling a little just because I'm excited I can help someone with the same issue as me

No thank you, that actually helped a lot.. The car is actually a 4 speed stick right now, and I wanna make it auto.. I have the 5 lug stuff already.. My main concern was converting to mass air..
