Roller or non roller springs?

Flat tappet cams and roller cams and just cams in general all have different seat and nose values.

Your springs, are they for a roller cam or a flat tappet cam? If you dont know take it to a performance oriented machine shop.

You are gonna want 120 closed and 300 open

SO, check your installed height of existing springs then have a machine shop run em down with the lift numbers and see what rates you have.

If installed is 1.450 then you want 120 pounds at installed atleast and you have .542 lift then at .908 you want 300 and make sure you have no coil bind until below that.......(these numbers are GENERIC values)

It's still apart I called summit before I ordered these pistons I gave them I talked to the tech guy told him my heads were 58cc but the machine shop resurfaced them to 54cc so I gave them 180cc and a 54cc so they came up with these probe flat top forged pristons with a 2 valve reliefs should be good but I'm definitely checking ptv

I used to have a picture of a shortblock with deep valve reliefs and aftermarket pistons......too bad the reliefs were cut in the wrong place.

The 1.60 exhaust valve on the edelbrocks banged everyone of the pistons.....

on a side note, I put that motor back together with some trick flow twisted wedge heads and it ran like a raped ape even after all 8 pistons touching all the exhaust valves......
