Get a big hammer and hit the side of the spindle where the ballpoint goes through..do not hit the balljoint..and do not use a pickle fork because it will tear the boot..couple hard hits to the side and it will pop off

Bfh should work, if not pickle fork will speed it along. if you pay attention, you will not rip your boots.

Ball Joint...press them out, then press new ones in BAM! Moog is a good OE replacement brand afaik
edit, if ball joint is good, then just get the boots at oreillys...but might as well replace them sumbitches [ July 12, 2012, 07:33 PM: Message edited by: fredfifty ]

I usually make the springs do all the work, I just loosen the spindle nut from the ball joint, let the spring pressure break it apart.

A large hammer is the key (I have removed ALOT of spindles) As long as you keep the sway bar attached you can leave the spring in place and the A arm will stay put. a couple of solid hits will drop the ball joint stud right out. It is best to hit on the flat block but can strike anywhere around the stud on the spindle side.
