the ONLY option in my opinion are ET streets from mickey thompson

they are the only thing that will hook and give you you what you want.

anybody that tells you that nittos are awesome, has never used anything except them, or they are just trying to sell you theirs cuz they suck so bad

nittos hook no better than regular old street tires, you'll never see a 2.0 sixty on them, usually 2.1 and 2.2, but a bone stock 5 speed 5.0 can pull 1.7's on the mickeys

hoosier drag radials... on a 17 inch rim they hook really good. 1.7, 1.8 60ft no problem.

unless you have a reason to go shorter or taller, to gain or lose some gear....stay as close to the stock height as possible, and try to go 10" wide

i dont know what sizes are available in a 17", but you might wanna be closer to 9" wide than 10" wide cuz your narrow rim might pull the sidewalls in too much

usually their website will have recommended rim size for whatever tire you find, and there are tons of calculators to show what the metric size means in inches

a 26 X 10 tire is usually best

Just to disagree lol. The only nittos that actually hook are the nto5r's. Pulled 1.8's easy. But mickys and Hoosier are great as well. For a 17 inch tire you can go wrong with either brand..

Hoosiers make DOT drag radials. I like my Toyo TQ drag radials for the street and track.

wow really.....it only took 20 years for them finally get it right..

ok...so any nitto with a "555" in it suck balls

feel free to try this "new" one that supposedly is decent after 5 failed attempts at a tire from nitto

OR.....go with the "never failed" mickey thompson

i'll still buy mickeys rather than use nittos for free

ive just been in this game WAY too long to waste time with junk

but hey....theres a gambler in all of us, and yeah ive heard this new one can make you "keep up " with the other guys, cuz a 1.8 seems like i did something wrong, not good. "good" is a 1.6

i always loved that tho....

"hey is your honda fast ?"
"hell yes !!! it almost keeps up with a stock mustang"

Dude just go wih the mickey thompsons. Ive seen people put a 275/40 17 on a 17x8 rim. I havent seen first hand if it buldges too much or not but i know it fits.
The nitto's aren't THAT bad, but the MT's are better. Alltho the new nt05r drag radials are pretty good too, consistent low 1.7's in a c5 vette is good to me.
