STD means its a standard bore. So 4.00 bore If its a 5.0.

I googles that part number L2482 and it says something about being a TRW piston?

But It looks like every other regular piston.
Im sure you can just buy any brand that looks similar.

They are a stock replacement, chances are the person who rebuilt it ordered the rebuild kit from TRW.

Stock forged 302, stock bore. Normally you get the E7 Pistons, however when I rebuilt my 302 last year TRW was in the catalog under stock forged. 87-92.

TRW is also SpeedPro if that helps!

Edit : After going through a book, I found this after some searching.

Ignore the .60 over.

Flat top for higher compression, with valve releifs. Seeing as they are stock replacements, the one you replace should also be a flat top with valve releifs, and you won't have a problem.

It isn't a bad idea to re-ring them all, measure ring gaps accordingly. Also, why are you only replacing one?

You can get an entire set for less then $200 for stock forged pistons.

You mean excessive ring gap? They sell oversized rings for that purpose. Pic would help!

To be honest there is NOTHING special about those older TRW stock replacement standard bore pistons.

The weight may be different so just sticking one piston in it will probably work but it could cause an out of balance issue and the motor will vibrate and wear bearings quicker........if you have it all apart just find a rotating assembly in good shape (stock 5.0 shortblock) and put the rotating assembly in your block.

Hopefully it was all 50 oz imbalance so you dont have any issues there.

If you still insist then weigh the piston on a gram scale and try to find a forged standard bore replacement.

Also make sure that you dont mix metric ring pack pistons with standard ring pack pistons.

.........when was the last time YOU built something with YOUR own hands?
