your automatic had a neutral safety switch, u still got it?if u grab it of the trans hook it back up in your car and run it kinda back to where it ori went on your new t5, that would be almost the length an is the wires you will need to convert to what u ask. theres gona be four wires to that unit, u only need 2, the other 2 is gona be your ignition and u should combine those, solder those or something lol. if they dont connect, no start. the other two will be your reverse lights. now what colors, and a wiring diagram i dont have, i use a test light and experience take me to the finish. maybe someone else will chime in and give u the diagram or wire color codes to what is what, and u can get a bit further.

well kinda where the throttle arm comes thru the fire wall. right above that some where close is some wires stickin thru the fire wall as well , in a square lookin plug, now on your year there might be 2 sqaure lookin plugs. one is for the engine harness, like water temp, oil presure, and ignition coil. the other square plug is the one i speak of, now the one i was talking about on the trans is just a extension of that. and it would of been nice to use that one. but u dont, maybe u can find one used cheap, doesnt even have to work u just need the wires that run down to the trans so as like a extension,u can cut the round nuetral switch off and do your wiring headache from there lol. i just think it would be cool to have the factory plug in your engine bay. theres a bunch of different ways u can do this. but the one square plug with 4 wires is the one u need, again i dont remember what wires are what color. and trying to explain how to use a test light to find what u need is a lil beyond me with the jack an coke i was just drinking. but those plugs got the two wires u need to run to your trans. u know i think mustang plus sells this peice as a direct plug and go item. sorry im not much more help, im more of a hands on guy then tryin to explain how lol.
