trying to install a 3g alt but i need to figure out which terminal is the "I" terminal?
(car is kind of bare and original regulator is gone, the pic is for reference/identification purposes...I dont have a regulator around with the terminal markings)

if your going 3G you can toss that. if you look all the wires went back to the solenoid. when I went 3g I traced all the wires back and took the whole harness out and havent had any issues since.

I was looking at a diagram and it says that the exciter wire from the 3g alternator plugs into the original regulator connector ("I" terminal).
where did you hook your exciter wire upto?

Look on the top side of the plug, they should be labeled. I should be on the far left.

Also the ignition terminal on the starter solenoid should work for you too!
