I got a 91' efi 460 out of a f250 that I want to put in a project. I'm planning on converting it to mass air. Goal is to make decent power on a budget....say 2k or so may go up if need be.
I want to ditch the stock efi heads and intake since they are a cork.
Plan so far.....
Stock rolling assembly
Victor intake with fuel injector bosses machined
Harness from fuelinjected.com
Ap9 computer and harness

Thats all i know i have or want at this point.
What heads should i go for?
Injectors and whatnot?

Thanks, but that is for a 150 conversion which will be 5.0 or smaller engine.
I know for a start at least 36lb injectors will be for a base hp engine. Maby a lightening maf too.
Once i figure out good affordable heads i can figure how much fuel i will need.

I did.........
I'm going to need a throttlebody to carb adapter, which trick flow makes. I guess i run a simaler fuel setup from a mustang ie lines, logs, reg and good pump.
The buggy is carbed now so a fuel cell too for a return line.

What are some good carb setup heads that are affordable?

I think you are overthinking this. RPM air gap intake machined to use fuel injection, a carb to efi/tb adapter and a set of CJ heads. The rest is just like a smaller engine. Just remember the firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 for the 460. Edelbrock also makes a stand alone efi system as well. Just keep revs under 5500 for the stock rotating assembly and you will be fine.

Thanks, i guess i could be overthinking a bit. I guess figure setting it up like i would a mustang and go a little bigger on air and fuel.
The project is my 70 bronco rockcrawler. Planning on pushing the motor back 10" or so in the chassis, retubing the front frame and clip for better suspension travel and getting a little more power than the clapped out 302 has to my 40" tires.
Im torn on running a c6/205 or keeping my 435/4:1klune/ 205 and finding parts to convert the engine to manual trans.
