Hey guys I have a question, how do find out if a have a 347 or not? What xo I look for or at? Thx

If you could remove the oil pan you can tell for sure if it has a 347 by looking at the cylinders, the cylinders need to be notched for connecting rod clearance.

pull the pan and have a look.
not all strokers need clearanced.
most h beam rod strokers with cap screws do but typically I beams dont need it.

Take one of the heads off and measure the bore and stroke. Like Turbo50 said, not all 347's require clearancing.

So if its .030 over it could just be a 306........
Or could be a standard bore 3.4 inch stroke 342.........

If you pull the pan, you can look up the numbers on the side of the rod caps and see if they cross reference to a stroker. You can also check your harmonic balancer and engine block number. If you have a 28 oz balancer on a engine that is suppose to be 50oz, there's a good chance the engine has a stroker kit on it.

Sounds like you bought a car without knowing much about it.. Go to a dyno to get a baseline for the easiest answer.. Pulling it apart is the only TRUE way I believe...

Not really he can feed a wire down the bore to bottom top dead then up to top dead.....

Yeah im dont know much about it all I know is what the guy sed what it is but I dont think its a 347 so now I need to pull it out and see what it really is and if its not then thats ok, ill pull out the motor put an other that I have in it and roll it. Thx for all the info for this 347 and if it is I will let u all know whats up, thx again.
