if it's still the double valve springs you might want to swap them depending on what cam/rocker ratio

I remember that the real early heads had valve geometry issues and Harland Sharp even marketed a set of rockers to correct the issue. Not sure when all that got sorted out, but I remember reading about those issues years ago.

The guides got chewed up cuz the heads were funky and in order to get the rockers to ride the valve correctly you had to play with them a bit.

Most folks just bolted them on and went. Matter of fact most folks just bolt all heads on and go....most motor builds never have the valve train geometry issues addressed.

Someone chime in if I'm overstepping my knowledge, but the geometry of those heads will continually wear on the valve guides eventually leading to excess oil consumption. I ve heard accounts of a quart every couple of hundred miles. There may be superior valve guide material eg. tin bronze that have better wear characteristics that combat the failure.

That is why you look at your valvetrain geometry and address any issues, prior to it hammering on it lol

I remember reading up on the trickflow before I got mine and recall that the valve geometry would be off if you used other brand rockers on the heads. Kinda smart on trickflow's part since they keep you to their brand. Their roller rockers are around the same price anyway. I'd sell the ford ones and pick up a set of the TFS 1.6's.

I haven't had any problems with mine! They are the old ones without trickflow on the head. But granted mine when put on had zero miles and only have 5 to 8,000 miles now. I'm running some old school erson 1.6's with a n41 basically a f cam.
