My cousin recently picked up a cammed 93 gt. In the morning or on a cold start up the car starts and then shuts off. He has to hold the throttle at a certain rpm for it to stay on until it warms up. After it warms up the car idles fine. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

I know a lot of ppl that have to do this. My cousin in a z06 with a ms4 Cam he has to Rev it for a while and he's tuned. Also my other cousin in 01 gt, 2 of my boys have a hatch and a notch same thing once they warmed up they idle fine
