Hey I'm removing my power steering pump n going manual. I have to grab a standard water pump right?. My question is will a 1984 pump from a mustang work.

This is for a 89 fox 5.0

Check to make sure all the inlets/outlets line up.If i remember right standard rotation pumps have the inlets/outlets at different angles than reverse rotation. You might have to change the timing cover to get things right.

You will DEFINITELY need to change your timing cover.Earlier covers also have a mechanical fuel pump so youll need to get a fuel pump block-off plate for that. And youll most likely have to block the dipstick hole too,if the cover you get has one.
