I picked up some chrome 99gt wheels theyre original ford rims so if i put 3/4" spacers my axle studs will hit the mounting flange of the rim. Has anyone else tried drilling 5 more holes in 99gt wheels to use thick spacers?

drilling 5 new holes in the wheel? probably a bad idea. Get longer wheel studs.

Its because the thick wheel spacers have their own studs but when you bolt them to the axles the original studs stick out past them so theres 5 studs full length and the 5 tips of the original studs. In aftermarket wheels theres 5 extra holes in the back of the wheel but these original ford rims dont have that.

Then i wouldnt be able to run my 18x10 bullitts with a 1/4" spacer

cut the tip of the studs and see if that works...it should give you another 6 mm maybe and the its only the tip of the studs where theres no thread.
had to do that when i installed 3 inch long studs so i could run spacers all day without dealing with those bolt on spacers. my lug nuts had closed end and couldnt snug the wheel in place before the tip of the stud would hit the end of the nut!

um, they sell spacers that bolt on to your lugs, and have a new set of lug studs in the spacers, so your wheels bolt to that. They're usually 1" thick.
don't drill the wheels or cut your studs down, that's just asking for a wheel to go flying off and kill someone on the freeway ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)

he has those exact spacers with the lugs on...read the posts and ull get what hes saying
