If you guys know any good threads please post link or full write up. I would appreciate the great help from the cafords world. I have a 98 GT manual trans. Everything is stock. I already pulled the old motor and im just waiting for the new remanufactured one to get here from florida probably early this week. Any helpful tips would be also greatly appreciated. Thanks community.

What information are you looking for? If you've pulled the motor, you're halfway there. Do you need info on a build? Like from the shortblock up?

well i pulled the motor about 6 months ago and to tell u the truth i dont really remember too much about where everything went, especially the engine harness. And no i didnt mark everything on the harness, i know i messed up. Give the newbie a break. I do have my Chilton mustang book, is that my best bet? i was looking more for a thread of an install of 4.6 engine. I am getting a long block fully assembled coming this week so it sounds like a piece of cake just dropping it in.

You're in luck. On the 4.6/5.4 Modulars...there isn't a single connector that can be confused...they are all specific type, meaning you can't screw up. For the harness, I'd take it and lay it out over the top of the motor. Connect the connectors as they lay, with your injectors being last. Start from the back of the motor and go forward with them. With the pre-COP setups, the plug wires can be the biggest headache.

Don't forget the oil and coolant!
